GenoExplorers – East End House

During a summer service-learning program, students learned about Genetic diversity (inheritance, variability of traits, adaptations.)  They discovered and investigated needs/problems related to the impact of knowing genetic predispositions on health and the use of genetically modified organisms in foods. Through research, they learned that many people in their community did not realize the importance of knowing genetic predispositions on health and the use of genetically modified organisms in foods to keep themselves healthy.  Students decided to create informative posters to spread public awareness of the issues and display them at the annual East End Summer Block Party.
